Cierro la puerta del mundo y sirvo el vino.

Brindo por nosotras.

Te veo en el espejo nublado,

disfrazándote con mi piel.

Los abuelos me dicen que tengo tus rasgos,

pero no les creo: siempre serás más bella que yo.

Se esta haciendo tarde.

No contesto el teléfono.

Hablo contigo y me escuchas,

y el peso de tus memorias ya no es tan grande.

About the author: Paulina is a journalist based out of Southern California, she is a first generation Dominican-American born and raised in New York City. She is a graduate of the University of Houston, her work has been published in the Houston Chronicle, Las Vegas Review- Journal, HelloGiggles and Vivala, She hopes to publish more creative works in Spanish in the future.
